
Press Release – d Awards 2020 Winners Announcement
Malaysian Digital Association’s d Awards returned for the fourth year and notched another major success with a total of 217 entries and the largest pool of 17 winners.
PETALING JAYA, APRIL 16, 2021 – The Malaysian Digital Association (MDA) has announced the winners and finalists of the d Awards 2020, with Fishermen Integrated walking away with the coveted title of Grand Prix and Digital Impact of the Year.
The d Awards returned for the fourth year, introducing the four new categories in extending appreciation to innovative digital practitioners in the country, the Best in E-Commerce Marketing Campaign, Best Influencer of the Year, Best Influencer Marketing Campaign, and Rising Star awards – which is a subcategory of the Digital Person of the Year award. A total of 217 entries and 89 finalists were shortlisted for the d Awards 2020. Evaluation of submitted entries and selection of the winners was completed by an independent judging panel made up of renowned experts in the field. Recognition was awarded in fourteen campaign categories and three people categories of Digital Person of the Year, Rising Star, and Best Influencer of the Year.
In celebration of outstanding achievements during a tremendously challenging and unpredictable time, the awards resumed after their brief hiatus with virtual final judging on March 12th judged by over 40 judges. The awards wrapped up with virtual announcements via the MDA website and social media platforms. Given the safety concerns over Covid-19, there was no awards celebration gala held this year.

Thirty-eight agencies and publishers submitted their works, and 17 winners were announced by stages, commencing from April 14th, 2021, for campaigns, and people categories were revealed on April 15th, 2020. The much-anticipated awards highlights, the Grand Prix and Digital Impact of the Year was declared on April 16th, 2021.
Mr. Steven Yap, the Head of Digital of Kingdom Digital Solutions, was declared as Digital Person of the Year. Ms. Lana Kobayashi Pagnoux of Hyperlab Solutions emerged as the Rising Star, and Ms. Nandini Balakrishnan from Rev Media Group was accorded with Best Influencer of the Year.
Maxis E-Commerce was declared as the Best in E-Commerce Marketing Campaign, Media Prima Bhd was hailed once again as the Best Digital Publisher of the Year and mSix Agency, Malaysia triumphed in the Best Influencer Marketing Campaign category.
